Fellowship Highlights:
Patient Management:
Fellows will actively engage in outpatient consultations with Dr. Bhushan Kathuria and his team. Additionally, they will independently manage consultations at peripheral OPDs, gaining exposure to the entire spectrum of patient management, from diagnosis through to post-surgical care.
24-Hour Functional Skills Lab:
Our state-of-the-art skills lab includes a dedicated Temporal Bone Station, where fellows will receive two temporal bones for hands-on dissection. Under the guidance of seasoned faculty such as Dr. Vikas Kakkar, fellows will also receive comprehensive mentorship in temporal bone dissection and surgical techniques.
Surgical Exposure:
Primary Surgeon/First Assistant Role:
Fellows will either assist or act as the primary surgeon for a wide variety of surgeries, ranging from routine ENT procedures to complex head and neck oncology surgeries. This exposure will be tailored to the fellow’s abilities and specific interests.
Surgical Training Overview:
Basic ENT Surgeries:
Septoplasty, Tympanoplasty, Coblator-Assisted Endoscopic Adenoidectomy, Tonsillectomy, Mastoidectomy, SPA Ligation, and routine FESS.
Advanced ENT Surgeries:
Endoscopic Anterior Skull Base (Septum to Skull Base):
Full spectrum rhinoplasty, Full House FESS, CSF Rhinorrhea repair, Draft III, Pituitary surgery, Meningoencephalocele repairs, Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA) resections, and nasal tumor excisions.
Lateral Skull Base (Pinna to Petrous):
Glomus Tympanicum, Glomus Jugular, Carotid Body Tumor resection, EAC tumors, Cochlear Implantation, and Vestibular Schwannoma surgeries.
Head & Neck Oncosurgeries:
Oral Cavity: Tongue, Buccal, and Alveolar resections.
Oropharyngeal: Tonsillar, Base of Tongue, and Vallecular malignancies.
Laryngeal: Comprehensive laryngectomies, covering all documented types.
Sinonasal & Skull Base: Maxillectomy, Infratemporal Fossa (ITF) surgeries, and skull base resections.
Neck Dissections: Selective to advanced radical neck dissections with a focus on preserving vascular and neural structures.
Reconstruction: Flap-based reconstruction techniques, adapted to specific head and neck defects.
Short, Intensive Courses:
We also offer brief, intensive courses under the “Otorhinolaryngology Synergy” banner, which include hands-on temporal bone dissection, detailed discussions with specialists, and exposure to a broad range of ENT procedures.
