Obstructive Sleep Apnea
1. Adenoidectomy
It is a surgical process to remove the adenoid glands. Adenoid glands help in protecting your body and providing immunity. A few times they enlarge and are chronically affected.
They usually cause impairment in breathing. The surgeon removes the outgrown tissues of adenoid glands or some use electricity, to heat the tissue to remove it
2. Palate Surgery
Palate repair surgery is usually performed when the baby is 6 to 12 months old. The cleft in the roof of the mouth is closed and the lining of the palate is realigned and reshaped. The wound is closed with dissolvable stitches. The operation is usually performed in 2 hours by seducing general anesthesia. Post-surgery care is very much recommended since babies undergo. They have to be handled with much care for up to 2 to 3 months.
